This educational activity расскаs about the long and complex journey of grain from field to table, ending as a delicious cake or loaf of bread. Participants will learn what tasks had to be carried out and which traditional tools were used in growing rye and wheat, as well as in baking bread and cakes. Not only the distinctive names of the tools will surprise them, but also the unique nature of traditional work itself. Children will discover how to grind grain with hand millstones, pound it in a mortar, and use flails, and they will experience how rhythmic verses help maintain the pace when threshing grain, while folk song melodies make grinding with millstones easier and more enjoyable.
